This very striking Caughley heart shaped dish is handpainted in the "Weir" pattern & dates to c.1780-90. These are, in my humble opinion, amongst the very best & most original products manufactured at Caughley.

With a very striking shape & pattern, these dishes are amongst the most original wares produced at Caughley.
The dish is marked with a crescent mark to the inside edge of the footrim.
This Superb Caughley heart shaped dish is handpainted in a Chinoiserie style, with a figure to the foreground & pavillions in the distance. With a meticulously painted border & a very striking shape, these dishes are amongst the most attractive & most original of the Caughley output.
There are a couple of very tiny chips to the rim on the rear of the dish, as can be seen above.
This Wonderful Caughley dish dates to c.1780-90 & is in excellent condition with only 2 tiny rim chips to the reverse, it would compliment any collection of 18th Century English Porcelain. |
