A nice Caughley tea bowl & saucer in the Pagoda Pattern dating to c.1780-90. Both pieces are unmarked except for a gilders number to the saucer footrim.

The teabowl & saucer are transfer printed with a deep underglaze blue version of the Pagoda pattern,
The pictures above show the pattern from different views around the teabowl.
Both pieces are unmarked with the exception of the saucer which has a gilders number
The teabowl & saucer are shaped in a scalloped form & decorated with the busy "Pagoda" pattern.
Both pieces are then gilded over the glaze, which was very much in vogue at that time.
The undersides are unmarked except for the saucers gilders mark, which can be seen below.
Overall this is a very nice example of a Caughley teabowl & saucer that would compliment any collection of |
