Bow Chinoiserie Coffee Cup c.1750-55 A very attractive Bow Coffee Cup handpainted with Chinese style decoration in vivid overglaze enamels, c.1750-55. There is some form of painted mark to the base.

This delightful little Bow Coffee Cup is painted with very bright & vivid enamel colours,
There is the remnant of some form of mark to the underside, unfortunately though it is not complete.
The U shaped cup is painted with a peony & trailing branch & flowers in very bright polychrome enamels.
The pattern is continuous from the main panel, right around the side of the cup to the handle.
There are 2 hairlines from the rim as can be seen below.
There is a painted mark to the base, which unfortunately is not intact as can be seen below.
All in all this is a desireable early Bow coffee cup in reasonably good condition, which would compliment any collection of antique English Porcelain. |
