The can is decorated in brightly coloured enamels, note the decoration to the handle & the "comma" marks to each side of the upper & lower handle terminals, mimicking the Chinese originals.

There is an area of roughness with the appearance of something having run down the inner wall, & into the bottom of the can. This almost certainly occured during firing, the can was still sold rather than being being considered unsaleable.
The underside is completely flat & unfinished.

The can is decorated with a floral pattern, it being different on both sides of the can & with a simple upper & lower border in red. The handle is a simple loop handle, note the 2 hairlines from the rim.

The area of roughness to the inner wall can be seen here, note also the decoration to the handle, &
the "comma" marks to each side of the handle terminal copying the Chinese imports.

Above & below are the different patterns to the sides of the can.

The firing problem to the inside of the can is clearly visible in the photos above & below, it appears that
something has run down the wall & collected in the bottom of the can.

The foot is completely flat & unfinished as opposed to having a footrim & being glazed.

Overall this is a desirable early Bow Coffee Can c.1752-56,
& an interesting addition to any collection of early English 18th Century Porcelain.
